1-1
ATTACHMENT D
OVERVIEW OF ISO -GEN TREATMENT
This technology involves the electrolysis of groundwater using H2O Technologies Iso -Gen units to
enhance the biodegradation of dissolved -phase petroleum hydrocarbons. Electrolysis of
groundwater will be conducted with electrolytic cells placed in re -circulation wells at the site. The
key advantage of this process is that without adding chemicals, the technology enables destruction
of petroleum hydrocarbons and MtBE both directly with thin electrolytic cell and indirectly by
providing dissolved oxygen into the aquifer for microbes to degrade the petroleum hydrocarbons,
MtBE and other additives.. Please see the following pages for an overview of a typical installation.
