C <br />• <br />0 <br />July 26, 2000 <br />Project 077 41991 043 <br />Mr Marty Hartzell <br />RWQCB — Central Valley Region <br />3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br />Sacramento, CA 95827-3098 <br />00 JUL 27 A`1110.50 <br />SECOR <br />International Incorporated <br />Mr Harlin Knoll <br />San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br />Division <br />304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br />Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br />Re Clarification on Fuel Oxygenate Analysis <br />Former Chevron Service Station 99-5775 <br />301 West Kettleman Lane <br />Lodi, California <br />Dear Mr Hartzell and Mr Knoll <br />This letter, prepared by SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of <br />Chevron Products Company (Chevron), presents a clarification regarding oxygenate <br />analysis on groundwater samples collected during the second quarter 2000 at the above <br />referenced site On May 25, 2000, second quarter groundwater monitoring and sampling <br />was performed On July 14, 2000, a quarterly progress report was submitted to the <br />Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD), in accordance with Cleanup and Abatement <br />Order (CAO) No 5-00-704 As part of the requirements of the CAO, fuel oxygenates <br />EDB, 1,2 -DCA, MtBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, ethanol, and methanol were to be <br />analyzed for in groundwater samples During our review of the data, we noted that the <br />samples were analyzed for fuel oxygenates MtBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME, <br />however, were not analyzed for fuel oxygenates ethanol, methanol, EDB, and 1,2 -DCA <br />As a result, site monitoring wells were re -sampled on July 24, 2000, under the <br />supervision of SJCEHD, and analyzed for all fuel oxygenate constituents A report <br />documenting the findings will be submitted when all analyses are completed <br />3017 Kilgore Road, Sae rte 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor corn <br />
