6.0 DETERMINATION OF GROUNDWATER HYDRAULICALLY
CONNECTED TO WATERS OF THE U.S.FACILITY INFORMATION
6.1 GROUNDWATER HYDRAULICALLY CONNECTED TO WATERS OF
THE U.S. METHODOLOGY
ERM uses Geographic Information System (GIS) and Watershed Modeling
System (using USGS data, stream morphology, and hydrology) in
combination with available site information to complete the following
analyses. Information from the Time to Groundwater evaluation
(reference Section 5.0) is used to complete Determination of Groundwater
Hydraulically Connected to Waters of the U.S.
6.2 GROUNDWATER HYDRAULICALLY CONNECTED TO WATERS OF
THE U.S. RESULTS
This terminal is determined to have groundwater potentially
hydraulically connected to the Tom Paine Slough, a potential Waters of
the U.S. located approximately 4,000 ft to the north of the facility. The
following information is used to complete this determination:
• Modeling Data and USGS Data
Modeling results are included as Appendix B. In addition to the
information used in the Time to Groundwater calculation described
in Section 5.0, ERM uses data from USGS Digital Elevation Models
(DEM), USGS Topographic Map, and Google Earth to complete the
modeling.
ERM 6-1 110870\CHEVRON\SPCC -JULY 2010
