From: Swearingen, Gregg@CDCR
Sent: Thursday, June 04, 2015 10:23 AM
To: emanzo@sjcehd.com
Cc: Sasson, Steve@CDCR
Subject: Re: CHCF Secondary Containment
Elena,
On September 4, 2014 the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department issues several
violations to the California Heath Care Facility (CHCF). One violation was for not meeting Code of Federal
Regulation 112.7(c). The violation is for not providing proper secondary containment for the emergency
generator diesel fuel storage tanks and associated piping at CHCF.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the contractor responsible for
developing a corrective plan to address this specific violation are meeting at CHCF on June 9, 2015 at
10:30AM. I am requesting the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department participation in
the meeting and discussions to design a plan which will correct the violation and ensures CDCR future
compliance with CFR 112.7(C). As the local jurisdiction having authority which enforces code on
aboveground petroleum storage facilities, your department's input of what is required and permissible
in a correct design would add great value in gaining compliance with the regulation.
Please confirm your department availability to participate in the meeting on June 9, 2015.
If you have any questions, concerns or need additional information, please contact me.
Thank you.
qff Suwa-ci
Departmental Construction and Maintenance Supervisor
Facility Asset Management Branch
California Depart of Corrections and Rehabilitation
Office (916) 255-2178
6/8/2015
