The residual
gasoline will be pumped out and reused if possible. If this is not possible, the
residual will be disposed in a manner to conform to regulations set forth for the
disposal of this type of material.
7.Tank Pp,ry ing.
The 116 oil tank has been cleaned enough to preclude any flammable vapors
from emanating from the tank.
Dry Ice(002)will introduced into the 1,000 gallon gasoline tank to prevent
flammable vapors from escaping.
S.Method of Disposal
The 22,000 gallon oil tank will be filled in place with a cement slurry and
capped with cement.
The 1,000 gallon oil tank will be removed, cut up and sold as scrap metal by
Stockton Service Station Equipment.
We are also including the results of the analysis that were taken from Beta and
Associates. The temporary monitoring well (drill hole 1) was constructed using two
inch diameter PVC monitoring casing, the lower fifteen feet was slotted. Soil samples
were taken at five foot depth intervals to a depth of twenty feet and at ten foot intervals
to the base of the boring at 55 feet. The Well was pumped until discharge water became
relatively clear of fine sediment and electrical conductivity readings stabilized. Five
further well volumes were extracted prior to obtaining a sample.
A twelve inch diameter core was cut through the concrete near the 22,000
gallon 86 oil tank to expose the underlying soil for sampling (drill hole 3). A soil
boring was made to a depth of 17.5 feet. Soil types were logged almost continuously at
this boring.
Shallow soil samples from these borings were tested for gasoline and oil,
respectively, using a flame ionization technique (FID). Shallow soil samples from drill
holes 1 and 3, plus groundwater samples were tested for volatile organics using EPA
method number 624.(see attachments)
P. 0.
