U
A S S O C I A T E S I N C
is the path of the school buses, well MW5 will be monitored manually with a depth to water
probe. A 2-inch Redi-Flog, submersible pump equipped with a flow meter capable of reading
flows up to 10 gallons per minute (gpm) and a discharge hose will be installed in well MW2.
ATC will use a generator to supply power to the pump. Additional information on the
submersible pump is provided in Attachment 1.
ATC will perform a three-step drawdown test to determine the optimal flow rate for the 24-hour
pumping test. Based on these results, groundwater will be extracted from the well at a constant
rate, estimated at 5 to 8 gpm, for a period of 24-hours and discharged directly to the City of
Ripon sewer system under permit from the City of Ripon Public Works Department. If the well
goes dry during the long-term pumping test, the pumping test will be temporarily halted to allow
groundwater to sufficiently recover and the test will be restarted. The pump, discharge hose, and
transducers will be removed from well MW2 and the observation wells upon completion of the
pumping test.
ATC has received verbal approval from Mr. Dale Ramey of the City of Ripon to discharge
groundwater to the city sewer system. Once ATC has received approval from PHS/EHD for this
workplan, ATC will complete a permit application for the discharge of the groundwater to .the
City of Ripon sewer system. A copy of the approved permit will be submitted to PHS/EHD.
Summary Report Preparation
ATC will prepare a final summary report for the site. This report will summarize all site
activities, analytical results, pump test results, drawdown analysis, transmissivity, storativity, and
contain an evaluation of the feasibility of this remedial option and recommendations. A copy of
the report will be submitted to PHS/EHD.
All work described in this workplan will be performed under the direction of a California
_ Registered Professional Engineer. All work will be performed in accordance with ATC's Site
Safety Plan (SSP) and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Plan, which are already on file with
PHS/EHD for this site.
PROJECTED SCHEDULE
Once approval of this workplan has been received, ATC will schedule the pumping test. ATC
will notify PHS/EHD.at least 48 hours prior to beginning any field activities. The summary
report will be submitted to PHS/EHD approximately four to five weeks after the completion of
field activities.
w:1130991reportslpumpwkp.doc 3
