Soil samples from under the UST's and the c ispenser piping indicated that some leaks toad
occurred during the life of the gasoline sales operation. i-oothill Engineering did a site investigation to
determine the vertical and horizontal extent of the gasoll rie contamination on 8/1311998 and&21/1998.
The a listing of the results of analysis of the soil sample;is attached.
Geomatrix installed a monitoring well GMX I at a location+1-25 feet south of the UST excavation and
sampled first gratindwatcr and that analysis is attached- Geomauix also made three soil boring(BH#I,
BH#2, and BH#3) with both soil samples and groundwater samples extracted (see attached map for
location). All samples an BH#l,BH#2, and BH43 weie non-detect for all compounds analyzed (see
attached data).
Procedure
The soil bores for the monitoring wells will be drilled with a hallow stem auger. Samples will be
extracted at five foot intervals by a standard BX split spc-on sampler. Sampling will continue to a depth
of fitly feet or to the vertical extent ofthe contamination. The monitoring well will be constructed of two
inch PVC,well casing with ten feet of screen between 40 1 o 50 feet bgs-(see monitoring well construction
details attached).
Installation of MW#2(proposed)will requiredthat acorKucterbc installed to drill through the pea gravel
