After <br /> approximately five minutes, the OVM probe was inserted into the headspace of the bag <br /> The OVM measurements for each sample were used to determine which samples were <br /> selected for additional analytical testing. The OVM readings are presented at the <br /> applicable depth interval on the well log (Figure 3) <br /> Since no organic vapors were detected in the field screening performed with the OVM, a <br /> single sample collected at the capillary fringe was submitted for chemical testing. After <br /> the sample was driven, a six-mch lined sample core was covered with Teflon and plastic <br /> end caps. The sample was placed into an ice-cooled chest and transported to the <br /> analytical laboratory under chain-of-custody procedures Additional soil samples were <br /> collected for soil classification purposes. <br /> 4.2 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> The monitoring well was constructed by installing a clean, two-inch-diameter, flushjoint, <br /> threaded, schedule 40 PVC casing with a clean 10-foot-long, factory slotted screened <br /> section with 0 02-inch perforations A 10-foot length of screened casing and a 10-foot <br /> length of blank casing was installed in the well <br /> 4 <br /> 11070707 PJC 18 November 1993 <br />
