TREADWELL & ROLLO <br /> MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> 4110 INDUSTRIAL WAY <br /> Tracy, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with our work plan dated 30 August 1993, we enclose the results of our <br /> supplemental investigation of the near-surface groundwater quality at the McKesson <br /> Drug Company Distribution facility at 4110 Industrial Way in Tracy, California (Figures <br /> la and 1b). This work consisted of the installation and sampling of one shallow <br /> groundwater monitoring well and supplemented information presented in our report <br /> titled "Groundwater Sampling, 4110 Industrial Way, Tracy, California" dated 17 June <br /> 1993. <br /> 2.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> A 12,000-gallon diesel underground storage tank was excavated and removed from the <br /> site in June 1992. Soil samples were collected from the bottom of the excavation and <br /> from stockpiled soil. Chemical testing indicated the presence of total extractable <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel and related hydrocarbon constituents: benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX). A total of approximately 160 tons of stockpiled soil <br /> was removed from the site and disposed of. <br /> Groundwater was encountered in the excavation during the tank removal activities <br /> Analytical results from the one sample indicated the groundwater contained diesel but <br /> no BTEX constituents Approximately 1,500 gallons of contaminated water were <br /> I <br />
