File No. 2070--2
19 September 1988
20. Soil samples for analysis will be taken at various intervals
(determined in the field) in each boring. Samples will be
retrieved, and placed in glass sample jars in an ice chest,
21. The samples will be screened in the field with the
photoiorization detector to confirm the presence/absence of
contamination. Using these results, up to two samples per boring
will be analyzed in the laboratory.
22. Drill cuttings with possible contamination will be placed in
lockable barrels and left on sites. If laboratory analysis shows
the cuttings to be contaminated, they will be dealt with in the
site remediation.
IV. REPORT qF FII LD WORK AND TEST RESULTS
23. At the completion of the laboratory and field work, a
written report will be provided that will:
a. Describe the property and operation, including past
cleanups and soil excavations.
b. Discuss the regional geology of the area. In addition,
local pumping influences will be discussed using a search
of existing wells at the Department of Coater Resources.
A discussion of underground utilities at the site will be
included. '
C. Detail the field work, discussing the boring locations,
depths, sample locations, soil types encountered (using
Uniform Soni Classification) , and visual evidence of
contamination. In addition, details of the monitoring
wells installed will be provided.
d. Present the results of the laboratory chemical analyses
of the soil and water samples. A discussion of the local
groundwater gradient will be included.
e. Provide conclusions regarding the lateral extent of
groundwater and soil contamination, based on our most
recent findings and the results of previous
investigations, our conclusions will address the
concerns of Mr. Boggs (as previously described in the
workplan) . Recommendations for additional investigation,
if needed, will also be presented.
