Rambo Baking
consideration to the increasing groundwater level at the site and other specific changes
which may have occurred at the site over the past several years.
Anderson Consulting Group conducted a well survey for this site in 1991. The
Department of Water Resources (DWR) was contacted and three wells were identified
south of the site within a 2,000 foot radius of the property. Municipal suppliers and
nearby industries should also be contacted and a physical search should be performed in
the area within a 2,000 foot radius of the site to identify any wells. Submit any known
construction details of the located wells. Submit a well survey addendum to PHS/EHD,
identify all sources of information and clearly depict each well location as it relates to the
above referenced site. Discuss conclusions regarding public and environmental health
risks as they relate to the pumping influence of these identified wells and the migration
and potential impact of the contaminant plume.
Submit a Work Plan to define the lateral extent of contamination at this site by Mav 1,
1999 Include the above mentioned components in the Work Plan.
Sampling for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) has been omitted for
MWs1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 13 in some past QMRs. Initiate and continue quarterly
groundwater monitoring of all MWs. Analyze groundwater samples for Benzene,
Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes using EPA Method 8020 and TPH-g using EPA
Method 8015 modified. Groundwater samples should also be analyzed for Ethyl Tertiary
Butyl Ether (ETBE), Tertiary Butyl Alcohol (TBA), Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether
(MTBE), Di -isopropyl ether (DIPE) and Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether (TAME) by EPA
Method 8260 (see attached letter). PHS/EHD also requests that a rose gradient diagram
for the site be submitted in the next QMR.
Contact Carol Oz, Senior REHS, if you have questions about this letter.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Carol Oz, Senior REHS Margaret Lagono, REHS
Site Mitigation unit IV Supervisor
cc: Mark List-CVRWQCB
Mark Milward-Philip Services Corp.
