Lt O001 SWWJ
V
washed with an Alconox solution, rinsed with tap water, and rinsed with distilled water prior to
each use. An ETIC geologist will supervise drilling and sampling activities. Technical
guidance for the program will be provided by a California Professional Geologist.
Soil samples will be examined for lithologic identification and visible signs of contamination
and the observations will be recorded in the field log. A field meter will be used to monitor for
organic vapors. Measurements of headspace vapors from soil samples will be recorded. If any
n ,
,r unusual stains or odors are evident in the soil, additional samples may be collected for
laboratory analysis. 'sCd as
Borings H1 through H6 will be drilled to 25 feet bgs. Borings 1171through H15 will be drilled
y r%
to 55 feet bgs. 'Soil samples from borings Hl through H9 and H11 through H13 will be
collected at approximate 5 foot intervals starting at 5 feet bgs. Due to the presence of gravel fill
`+ in the former 6,000 -gallon gasoline UST excavation area, samples at boring H10 will be
jSoil
bm3
collected every 5 feet starting at a depth of 30 feet bgs. samples from boring locations H14=r
c
v
and H15 will be collected at 5, 15 and 25 feet bgs only. Soil samples will also be collected at
sdi
changes in lithology and the soil/groundwater interface. The samples will be collected in clean
liners. The liners will be sealed, labeled, stored on ice in a cooler, and transported under chain -
of -custody protocol to a state -certified analytical laboratory.
The soil samples will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, five fuel oxygenates (DIPE, ETBE,
MTBE, TAME, and TBA), and 1,2 -DCA by EPA Method 8260B and TPH-d and TPH-motor
oil (TPH-mo) by EPA Method 8015M with a silica gel cleanup. - enud i ref vrl'
S. 1; c,s
3.2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS
.. Grab groundwater samples will be collected from the boring drilled beneath the former fuel
dispenser island (H7), in the vicinity of the former gasoline USTs (H8 through H12), cross -
gradient of the two former 6,000 -gallon gasoline USTs (H13), and downgradient borings H14
and H15. -Samples will be collected using a clean, stainless steel or disposable bailer or
peristaltic pump equipped with clean, disposable tubing. The samples will be collected in clean
bottles supplied by the analytical laboratory. The sample containers will be sealed, labeled,
V
stored on ice in a cooler, and transported under chain -of -custody protocol to a state -certified
analytical laboratory. The groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, five fuel
oxygenates (DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, TAME, and TBA), and 1,2 -DCA by EPA Method 8260B
and TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Method 8015M with a silica gel cleanup. — f ef , rf tai ; q t d I `,
^,1 ii = l
All reusable groundwater sampling equipment will be washed with an Alconox solution, rinsed
with tap water, and rinsed with distilled water prior to each use. The completed borings will be
filled and sealed with a mixture of grout consisting of neat cement. Each filled boring will be
covered with an asphalt patch or concrete to match the surrounding pavement.
V
10
v
