1 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of The Earthgrains Company (Earthgrains), Philip Services Corporation <br /> (Philip) performed groundwater monitoring at the Earthgrain's faculty at 2651 South <br /> ' Airport Way in Stockton, California This service was performed at the direction of <br /> the San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division <br /> (PHS/EHD) to monitor groundwater impacted from a former leaking underground <br /> storage tank (UST) A further description of the site, UST-related activities, and <br /> Philip's findings are contained herein <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> ' The facility is a bakery products plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California(see Figure 1) The plant straddles Sections 22 and 23, <br /> Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The <br /> ' site has a general elevation of approximately 17 feet relative to mean sea level <br /> (MSL) <br /> The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, <br /> which is relatively flat lying, and is almost entirely covered with asphalt and <br /> concrete The main facility building covers about two acres An approximately <br /> 1,000-foot-long, shallow, stormwater drainage ditch extends westerly along <br /> the south side of the facility to a south-flowing drainage canal This ditch <br /> empties into the intermittent Duck Creek, which is located about 900 feet <br />' south of the plant <br /> 1.2 Former Underground Storage Tanks and Previous Work <br /> The facility had four petroleum hydrocarbon underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs), as shown in Figure 2 A former 10,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank and <br /> two 6,000-gallon gasoline tanks were located near the southwest corner of the <br /> main building A 20,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank was located on the east side of <br /> the facility <br /> 1 The gasoline tanks near the southwest building comer were removed in April <br /> 1987 The two diesel-fuel USTs were removed in September 1989 The <br /> western-most gasoline tank had previously failed a tank integrity test, which <br /> was performed in December 1986 The eastern-most gasoline tank had <br /> previously been abandoned in place, prior to 1986, by removing the fuel and <br /> filling it with sand <br />' 4 <br /> October 2000 <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> The Earthgrams Company <br /> 2651 South Airport Way <br /> Stockton,California <br /> Prepared for THE EARTHGRAINS COMPANY Prepared by Philip Services Corp <br /> H%NV4624001321121382EG%St«kton%Swckton1I000mon doc November 10,2000 <br />
