Spanos Jet <br /> 1 Center with this letter report documenting soil and groundwater-grab sampling activities <br /> and results from the above-referenced under round storage tank (UST) site. <br /> V <br /> A total of three USTs currently- exist at the site (Figure 1): One 12.000-gallon aviation <br /> -asoline UST and one 12.000-gallon *et fuel UST are scheduled for removal. One <br /> existing 20.000-gallon jet fuel UST will remain in service. New replacement USTs will <br /> be installed in the same excavation as the removed USTs"or in an alternate location. <br /> t depending on the presence and extent of am- impacted soil in the original UST <br /> �a <br /> ° excavation. <br /> it <br /> Scope of Wort: <br /> The primary objective of this soil and groundwater-grab sampling effort was to determine <br /> if subsurface soil and ,roundwater in the vicinity of the existing USTs and at an alternate <br /> UST location have been impacted by aviation gasoline and/or jet fuel hydrocarbons. In <br /> addition. the data collected durim, this investigation will be used by a civil engineer to <br /> design shorin2 for the excavation and determine other subsurface soil engineering <br /> parameters. A registered civii engineer will prepare and submit the engineering results in j <br /> a separate report. '' } <br /> On October 23. 1998. Spectrum Exploration drilled two soil borings at the site using a <br /> truck-mounted drilling rig. equipped with 8-inch outside diameter hollow-stem augers. <br /> The drilling yeas performed under San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD f Permit '017`_'97.
