Airport Way <br /> Stockton, CA 9S206 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) has recently reviewed the analytical results <br /> of the it samples taken from beneath the underground storage <br /> tanks that were removed from this site during the periods of <br /> 1987-1990. <br /> Although the laboratory results from each tank removal indicated <br /> no detection of volatile organic hydrocarbons, the detection <br /> limits cannot be applied to current standards. (see chart below) <br /> Current standards, laboratory detection limits, and/ the site <br /> specific characteristics (i.e. depth to seasonal high <br /> groundwater, nearby wells, septic systems) make it impossible for <br /> PHS/EHD to evaluate these tanks for closure. <br /> According to the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT) field <br /> manual (February 1989) detection limits for soil analysis are <br /> .005 ppm for volatile hydrocarbons and 10.0 ppm, for total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon. <br /> If site closure certification is necessary, PHS/EHD would not be <br /> able to provide it without further investigation of the 8 <br /> underground storage tank removal sites listed below.
