Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
X15; Stockton Metropolitan Airport Underground rr and Tank Removals
Mr. Valin ti:
Cour firm has performed environmental assessmentof rnt r than 1000 acresof property within
rine mile of the Airport in tura past three years. The majority of these lands are immediately
westerly and ' northerly of Airport 'property. During these assessments, repeated
communications with Environrn ntal health staff and review of bath County and Central
Valley Regional 'eater Quality Control Board ( V WQCB) file indicate that more than 15'
underground feral tanks have been removed from Airport property with soil contamination
confirmed at several removal locations, While Environmental health and CVRWQCB staff`
indicate that groundwater assessment ork is warranted, none has boa,^r conducted.
Our clients and their lending institutions routinely ask for follows-up on this issue. All we have
been able to determine is that the groundwater ator asse sm nt is warranted though no priority
has been assigned. The lack of definition of the underground tank conditions as they relate
to rourrtlwater is a source of confusion to lenders. Some assessment work giving definition
to the groundwater quality at the Airport would be vary helpful,
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Vary truly yours,
NEY G501"ECHNICA
ia Gereghtyy
Registered Civil Engineer No. 4730
Registered Environmental Assessor No. 1621
MGJI
3176 INDUSTRIAL SUID, 0 WEST SACRAMENTO,CA 95691 TELEPHONE 916/371-0434 FAX 916/371-1809 9
