Concentrations detected
in soil (before) were obtained from beneath Tank 1 and was subseguentI over excavated . Soil (after) results were
obtained following Tank 1 over -excavation to 27 feet bgs. Groundwater (before) results were the highest concentrations
detected in hydropunch/MW samples. Groundwater (after) results were obtained from samples collected on 1216195 with the
exception of the MTBE sample results which were obtained from samples of MW1 and the onsite domestic well on 412196. A j
total of 957 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed by over -excavation in the areas of Tank 1, 2 and 3.
Ix
IV. Additional Comments, Data, etc.{
i
The onsite facility well was sampled in 1987 (TD 100' with 80' casing) was destroyed and a new well installed in 1988 (TD
160'w/120' casing). Karia Brasaemie, RG #6077, estimated that the residual soil contamination associated with former I
Tank 1 and Tank 2 was 1970 cubic yards with an average concentration of 6.39 ppm comprising 32 lbs; former Tank 3 with !
24 cubic yards with average concentration of 24 ppm comprising 1.6 Ibs; former,Tank 4 with 56 cubic yards with an average i
concentration of 25 ppm comprising 3.8 Ibs. She stated that based on the low concentrations present, less than 70 ppm at
13 ' bgs and the depth to water at 42 ' bgs, that over time the TPH remaining would naturally degrade through microbial '
action and that the remaining soil contamination should not pose a threat to groundwater. )
K
This document and the related CASE CLOSURE LETTER, Shall be retained by the lead agency as part of the official
site file.
