thirteen results for diisopropyl ether were qualified as having estimated reporting limits due to a low
CCV sample recovery. •
For fixed laboratory metals samples (groundwater and soil), all results for sample FMS24SB08-10
and six results for both sample FMS24SB07-08 and its field duplicate were qualified as estimated
concentrations due to poor field duplicate precision. In addition, four results were qualified due to
poor laboratory duplicate precision. Two of these results were also qualified for potential high bias
due to high matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate recoveries. Three results were qualified due to poor
precision between the matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate.
No results for samples analyzed by the field laboratory were qualified based on equipment blank
results.
• No results were qualified for samples analyzed by the field laboratory for TPH-D and TPH-G.
Split samples for VOCs for all soil gas samples were collected and submitted to ATL as a confirmation of
the field laboratory results and to provide data for analytes that could not be analyzed by the field
laboratory. Confirmation samples for VOCs, TPHD, and TPHG (two for soils and one for groundwater,
as well as one trip blank) were also submitted to Alpha Analytical Laboratories.
Overall, agreement between the soil gas split samples was acceptable; however, most of the results were
near or below the reporting limit, adding increased uncertainty to the reported concentrations and limiting
the usefulness of the comparison. For the soil samples, agreement for VOCs, TPHD and TPHG was
acceptable. For the groundwater samples, results for the VOCs were acceptable; however, there were
discrepancies in the TPHD and TPHG results. Because the field laboratory reported overall higher
concentrations, and because those data were used in the decision making process at the site, the impact to •
the usefulness of the data set is minimal.
•
n¢,uowcmon rMb 24 slwppx U\QA FMS 24.doc D-2
