One sample
was collected on November 2 and the other on November 10, 1999. These samples were
submitted to BSK Laboratory in Fresno tested for the following:
■ VOCs by method 524.2
■ DBCP by method 504.2
■ Nitrate by 300.0
The test results are summarized below in Table 3 and are attached in Appendix A.
Table 3: Water Well Sample Analytical Data - November 2 & 10, 1999
Vocs urate
method 524.2 method 504.1 method 504.1 method 300.0
ormg ept gg gg gg mg
ro uctwn e
(198-03-04)
ND < , - < <
The test results show that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by method 524.2 and DBCP
and EDB by method 504.1 are not present in the water sample from the well used by
Suprema. Nitrate was found at 27 mg/L.
4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusions
The following conclusions are drawn form the data gathered during this investigation:
Former UST Sites
1. Except for a trace amount of Toluene in GP 1-20 foot sample, all of the samples were
non-detect for the petroleum hydrocarbon compounds samples analyzed for.
2. No evidence of soil staining or hydrocarbon odors was observed during field screening
activity.
3. No evidence was obtained which suggests that a significant release of petroleum
hydrocarbons occurred in the two former UST locations.
4. The fact that sample analysis from the 10 to 20 feet bgs, there is a low permeable clay
layer which did not detect any of these chemicals, shows that a significant release of fuels
did not occur adjacent to these boreholes. If a significant release had occurred the fuels
would have migrated laterally along this layer and we would have detected it in the
samples from 15 and 20 feet.
Truck Maintenance Shop Area
1. All of the samples were non-detect for the Gasoline, Diesel, and Motor Oil compounds
and Purgeable Halocarbons (i.e., solvents) samples analyzed for.
2. The five metals tested for are within concentrations expected for this soil type.
3. No evidence of soil staining or hydrocarbon odors was observed during field screening
activity.
