NO, 93IV 4 p. ]3
Section 2
SITE DESCRIPTION
The McMullin Gas Dehydrator Station is located in San Joaquin County, approximately 2 miles south of
Manteca and '/z mile south 3f the intersection of Airport Way and Perrin Road. The station is owned by
PG&E and occupies an ar=t of approximately one-third acre which is relatively flat and covered with
gravel fill. The property surrounding the dehydrator station is used for agricultural farmland and for
raising cattle.
i
Tle facility was constructed in 1961 for odorizing and removing production fluids from natural gas
i
collected from gas wells in the area. During the 1960s,a glycol reboiler and production fluids tank were
located in the northeast and northwest comers of the site, respectively, and the dehydrator tower was
located near the center of tf;c site. The glycol reboiler included a still for condensing the production fluid
vapors which drained to a nearby sump. The site was reconstructed some time after 1973 and the layout
of the major process equipment was changed. The glycol reboiler unit was moved to the canter of the
site and the production fluids tank was replaced with a larger capacity tank surrounded by a concrete
basin(Figure 3). All production fluids generated from the reboiler unit were piped to the above-ground
production fluids tank for s'_orage. In 1996 the station was taken out of service and dismantled. All of
the major process equipment has been removed from the site, and the site remains fenced and covered
with gravel fill.
The McMullin Gas Dehydrator Station lies at an elevation of approximately Z5 feet above mean sea level
in the San Joaquin Valley. I'he Sart Joaquin River, located approximately 2000 feet to the west of the
site, is the nearest surface water body(Figure I).
f
i
.
402_331-9$ 63 2-1
I
