1 0 0
general approach, methods, and schedule for accomplishing the site assessment activities.
The site investigation described in this workplan will be conducted under the supervision of
a California Registered Geologist. Site assessment activities will include:
' 1. Drilling and soil sampling 9 exploratory borings for chemical analyses. The borings
will be advanced and sampled to the vertical limits of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil
(as determined by field screening techniques) or to groundwater, whichever is
' shallower. Groundwater monitoring wells will not be installed as part of this workplan.
If it appears that groundwater has been impacted, a separate workplan can be
prepared which addresses groundwater assessment and monitoring procedures.
' 2. Selected soil samples collected from the borings will be submitted to a State of
California -certified laboratory for petroleum hydrocarbon analyses (low, medium and
high boiling point hydrocarbons).
3. The results of this investigation will be summarized in a report and submitted to
PG&E's Gas Production and Storage Department for transmittal to the San Joaquin
Environmental Health Department.
1
1
1
1
1
' cca09-23-92/8787a.51/cp31 4
