Petroleum piping <br />• Slope the product and vaporretum pipe <br />'/a inch per foot (minimum) from dispensers <br />to storage tanks. • Proper station layout calls <br />for conduits and petroleum piping to be in <br />separate trenches or segregated in tank <br />excavation areas. • If conduits must cross <br />product lines, they shall do so at a 90° angle. <br />Sumps and dispenser <br />pans <br />• Do not run petroleum piping in the same <br />trench with electrical conduits. • Petroleum <br />lines should enter on one side of the <br />dispenser pan and electrical conduits on the <br />other side as shown here. • When properly <br />installed, flex connectors will make smooth, <br />uniform bends without kinks; they will not <br />cross over, rub against or touch one another, <br />riser pipes or the sides of dispenser pans <br />and sumps • Impact valves should remain <br />capped at all times during construction to <br />keep debris out of lines. <br />• The maximum allowable penetration <br />angle at sumps is 20°. • Perpendicular <br />penetration of sumps is preferred; <br />perpendicular penetration of dispenser <br />pans is required. <br />
