Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in <br /> other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peals work periods or otherwise <br /> balance the workload. <br /> SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • None. <br /> KNOWLEDGE,SHILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> • Ability to participate in and successfully complete required on-going training and <br /> periodic written, oral and hands-on testing. <br /> • Working knowledge and ability to use hand and pneumatic tools. <br /> • Ability to learn new skills and abilities relative to the maintenance of rail equipment. <br /> • Ability to follow written, oral and diagram form instructions. <br /> • Ability to read and understand documents such as operating and maintenance <br /> instructions and procedure manuals,etc. <br /> • Ability to understand and follow safety rules, work rules and company procedures. <br /> • Ability to perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision. <br /> • Ability to work flexible shifts, schedules and overtime. <br /> • Ability to work independently,and with other employees,without requiring <br /> assistance from,or disturbing the work of others,while in a team environment. <br /> • Ability to complete tasks within a specified thne period. <br /> • Ability to read,understand and interpret equipment repair manuals relative to <br /> maintenance,repair and trouble shooting. <br /> • Ability to accept constructive criticism. <br /> • Must have ability to climb steps on side of locomotives and work at heights of fifteen <br /> feet or more. <br /> • Visual acuity and hearing required. <br /> • Ability to hear,interpret and orally transmit clear, accurate directions using a two- <br /> way radio required. <br /> • Ability to occasionally operate overhead crane during heavy repair maintenance and <br /> loading/unloading trucks. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS,EDUCATION&EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: <br /> • High School Diploma or GED preferred. <br /> • Experience in automotive repair and troubleshooting,railroad equipment <br /> maintenance,diesel engine maintenance and repair,and HVAC repair. <br /> • Certified forklift operator experience required. <br /> • Railroad Engineer Certification,Maintenance Facility Operator Certification or <br /> successful completion of Company certification program(which includes on-the-job <br /> and classroom training,written,oral and hands-on testing)required. <br />
