Jose Martinez was the first to respond, he explained some of the basic instructions we
have learned and explained the characteristics of the Data Plate. Rafael Mendiula also gave an illustration of
u three point stand mount and dismount.
Our main topic for Mays meeting was on Prepare to Respond. Our employees viewed a video on
"PREPARE TO RESPOND". Some of the duties of a first responder are as follows:
1. To find out what type of Hazard and where it'b located.
2 Inform supervisors of what is needed to contain the spillso they can contact the proper Agencies
3. A first responder should not act until help arrives, It is his duty to observe, report and assist,
4. As a responder you should be prepared to respond, all responders should have proper PPF. (Personal
Protective Equipment) to combat the correct type of hazard.
We tniked about )tow to contain a spill by using absorbent, booms, pads, and for larger spills the Supervisor
Could call on ASBURY ENVIRONMENTAL. We also talked about the difference between hazardous
material and hazardous waste. Employees were once again told that after a spill of hazardous waste It must
be placed inside proper 55gul. drums and a starting date must written down as soon as the product Is put
into the drum. Drums are to be filled with solids only (not liquids) a good responder should always be aware
of his surroundings to inform his fellow coworkers of the dangers surruundis4g the incident.
MEETING WAS ADJOURNED!
MID J UNE
'DATE ON NEXT MEETING
FORWARD COPY TO:
PENNY HAW
DAVE ROGE.RS
JASON RICHARDSON
JOE BARCO
BUDDY STUBBLEFIELD
MATT ZEITER
_ARMANDO SALGAD •
SUPERVISOR'S SIGNATUHE
