A plastic container of aerosol cans on the cabinet in the parts area of the shop were found not labeled with the type <br />of waste stored. Containers used to store aerosol cans shall be labeled or marked with one of the following <br />phrases: "Universal Waste — Aerosol Cans", "Waste Aerosol Cans", or "Used Aerosol Cans". Immediately mark <br />these containers and ensure that all containers of aerosol cans are marked in this manner. <br />➢ We have added a waste label area with instructions on how the labels should be filled out, that includes <br />the data needed to properly fill out a label. <br />➢ We had a safety training meeting on how to properly fill out waste labels <br />➢ See attached pictures (605 and 708 waste labeling area) <br />713 CCR 66273.35 Stored UW onsite greater than one year or was unable to demonstrate the time UW has been <br />stored. <br />A plastic container of aerosol cans was observed on top of the cabinet in the parts area of the shop without an <br />accumulation start date. Universal waste may be accumulated for no longer than one year from the date the <br />universal waste was generated. The universal waste handler shall be able to demonstrate the length of time that <br />the universal waste has been accumulated. Since it could not be demonstrated how long this waste was stored on <br />site, immediately dispose of this waste and submit a copy of the disposal receipt to the EHD. <br />➢ See attached copy of the disposal receipt (102, 505 and 713) <br />
