CALIFORS REGIONAL WATER QUALITY *ROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827-3096 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> and <br /> Notice of Application for renewal of Waste Discharge Requirements <br /> (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit) <br /> for <br /> NEWARK GROUP INDUSTRIES <br /> NEWARK SIERRA PAPERBOARD CORPORATION <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Newark Sierra Paperboard Corp. submitted a report of waste discharge to renew a permit to <br /> discharge up to 3.5 MGD of non-contact cooling water to McDougald Slough, which is tributary to <br /> Mormon Slough and the San Joaquin River in the vicinity of the Deep Water Channel. No changes <br /> are proposed for the discharge operation. <br /> A public meeting concerning this matter will be held: <br /> DATE: 20 May 1994 <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> PLACE: State Water Resources Control Board <br /> Hearing Room 150 <br /> 901 P Street <br /> Sacramento, California <br /> Persons wishing to comment on or object to the proposed requirements are invited to submit same in <br /> writing to the Regional Board no later than 13 May 1994. All comments or objections received by <br /> this date will be considered in the draft waste discharge requirements. <br /> Additional pertinent information may be received by the Board, upon the request of any interested <br /> person at the meeting. After considering comments or objections, the Board may issue waste <br /> discharge requirements. Any action of the Board may be appealed to the State Water Resources <br /> Control Board within 30 days of the action. <br /> Anyone having questions on these requirements should contact the project representative. The proposed requirements and related documents may be inspected and <br /> copied at the Regional Board's office at 3443 Routier Road, Suite A, Sacramento, California, <br /> weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. <br /> Please bring the above matter to the attention of anyone you know who would be interested in this <br /> matter. <br /> CK E.
