WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -4- <br /> NEWARK GROUP INDUSTRIES, INC. <br /> NEWARK SIERRA PAPERBOARD CORPORATION <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> A. Discharge Prohibitions: <br /> 1. Discharge of treated wastewater at a location or in a manner different from that described in <br /> Finding No. 2 is prohibited. <br /> 2. The by-pass or overflow of wastes to surface waters is prohibited, except as allowed by the <br /> attached Standard Provisions and Reporting Requirements A.13. <br /> 3. Discharge of materials, other than storm water, that is not otherwise permitted by this Order to <br /> surface waters or surface water drainage courses is prohibited. <br /> B. Effluent Limitations- Prior to Discharge to McDougall Slough: <br /> 1. Effluent shall not exceed the following limits: <br /> Constituents Units Daily Maximum <br /> Chemical Oxygen Demand mg/I 20 <br /> Chlorine Residual mg/1 0.1 <br /> Settleable Solids m1/1 0.1 <br /> 2. The daily discharge shall not have a pH less than 6.5 nor greater than 8.5. <br /> 3. The maximum daily discharge flow shall not exceed 3.5 mgd. <br /> C. Effluent Limitations- Prior to Discharge to Mormon Slough: <br /> I. The maximum temperature shall not exceed the natural background temperature of Mormon <br /> Slough by more than 20°F. <br /> 2. The temperature shall not exceed 96°F at any time. <br /> D. Receiving Water Limitations: <br /> Receiving Water Limitations are based upon water quality objectives. As such. they are a required <br /> part of this permit. <br />
