San Joaquin Sr.
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Attn: Ms. L.T. Briggs
Dear Ms. Briggs,
In response to the list of hazardous waste violations returned which you returned to us on January
5th, I have prepared the following list of our corrective actions.
Waste Minimization Violation#3
As you know from our phone conversations, we are in the process of preparing a current
hazardous waste minimization plan and review. I have contacted the state DTSC for
information on preparing this document. We are considering a consultant to help us
prepare this report as well. We request a 90 day extension so that an acceptable and usable
1994 plan and review can be prepared. Please let me know if this is acceptable to you.
Preparedness&Prevention, Violations#14, #17
Per your suggestion a telephone has been installed at the Hazardous Waste Storage Area.
This will allow an employee to summon help in the event of a spill or other problem.
Storage, Violation#21
The H/W drums in satellite areas were immediately rechecked and lids were secured.
During our annual training sessions (held in December) we emphasized the importance of
keeping H/W containers closed except when adding or removing waste.
ContingencPlan, Violation#45
In the event of a spill, our management team will respond as dictated in our Hazardous
Materials Management Plan (H MP). The 1994 update was on site and available at the
time of your inspection. Attached please find our recently updated HMMP.
