0 <br />0 <br />*****California Specific Supplement***** <br />Hazardous Waste Manifest Procedures: <br />1) When shipping hazardous waste in CA, please follow these procedures. If you are <br />shipping waste out to the following vendors: CRI (oily absorbent), Asbury <br />Environmental (brake fluid) you are shipping a HAZARDOUS WASTE and these <br />instruction apply to you! <br />2) Immediately after the driver loads your waste and hands you a manifest to sign, make a <br />LEGIBLE COPY of the manifest he leaves with you. That same day mail your LEGIBLE <br />COPY to the following address: <br />DTSC Generator Manifests <br />P.O. Box 400 <br />Sacramento, CA 95812-0400 <br />3) Re -file the original copy of the manifest in the appropriate vendor folder. <br />4) When you receive the signed off final destination copy, (within 30 days of shipment) <br />please file this in the same folder and match it with the original copy in your folder. <br />5) If you do not receive the final, signed off manifest within 30 days of shipment, <br />contact EHS immediately as a report must be filed with the state of CA! <br />Hazardous Waste Guidelines (CA) <br />Container Management: <br />• All hazardous waste containers must be securely closed at all times unless you are adding <br />or removing waste from the container. This means: lids secure on drums, lids secure on <br />tanks or any other containers when you are not filling them! <br />• Hazardous waste containers need to be clearly marked with hazardous waste labels. <br />(Provided by your waste vendor or the EHS department) This includes: <br />1) the name of the waste. <br />2) the date you started filling the container (accumulation start date) <br />3) the type of hazard the waste presents (flammable, toxic, etc) <br />4) your facilities name and address and phone number. <br />5) The phrase "Hazardous Waste" <br />6) Your facilities CAL EPA Id number (CALXXXXXXXXXX) <br />7) The CA Waste Code (oil: 221, Oily absorbent: 223, Brake Fluid: 223) <br />8) The physical state: solid or liquid <br />9) All of this should be on a yellow hazardous waste label. Store on <br />pallets or on paved surfaces. <br />• Hazardous waste containers need to be stored where rain cannot come into contact <br />with them. (in a building or tarped) <br />
