Will cause eye burns and permanent tissue damage. <br />DEC 04 2015 <br />SKIN CONTACT: <br />Corrosive; causes permanent skin damage. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL <br />INGESTION : <br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />Corrosive; causes chemical burns to the mouth, throat and stomach. <br />May cause asthmatic -like attack. <br />INHALATION: <br />Elevated temperatures or mechanical action may form vapors, mists or fumes which may be irritating to the eyes <br />nose, throat and lungs. Causes asthmatic signs and symptoms in hyper -reactive individuals. <br />AGGRAVATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS: <br />A review of available data does not identify any worsening of existing conditions. <br />HUMAN HEALTH HAZARDS - CHRONIC: <br />Ingestion of sulfite can cause a severe allergic reaction in asthmatics and some sulfite sensitive individuals. The <br />resulting symptoms can include difficulty in breathing, flushed skin and a rash. <br />14. 1 FIRST AID MEASURES I <br />EYE CONTACT: <br />Immediately flush eye with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. PROMPT ACTION IS <br />ESSENTIAL IN CASE OF CONTACT. Get immediate medical attention. <br />SKIN CONTACT: <br />Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Use a mild soap if available. For a large splash, flood <br />body under a shower. Get immediate medical attention. Contaminated clothing, shoes, and leather goods must be <br />discarded or cleaned before re -use. <br />INGESTION: <br />Get immediate medical attention. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If conscious, washout mouth and give water to drink <br />INHALATION: <br />Remove to fresh air, treat symptomatically. Get immediate medical attention. <br />NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: <br />Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.
