LLNL-TR-720159
Attachment 103 a, b, c
a) The non -hazardous waste determination of the granulated activated carbon (GAC) was
made by generator and process knowledge based on the area in which the GAC was used
at Site 300. After inquiry from SJCEHD, the non -hazardous determination was verified by
volatile organic compound and fish toxicity analyses. The complete analytical data
packages are provided in this attachment.
b) The transformers located outside of B-872 were sampled and analyzed and were
determined not to contain any PCBs and the oil is being managed as CA hazardous waste.
The complete analytical data packages are provided in this attachment.
c) The sludge from the oil water separator at B-879 was analyzed for metals content. Upon
review of the data, it was determined that the lead concentration (57.8 mg/kg) was above
the 10x rule for CA STLC hazardous waste determination, but below the 20x rule for
federal TCLP hazardous waste determination. Therefore, rather than running the waste
for the STLC, LLNL will conservatively manage this as CA hazardous waste.
PPCEIVED
FEB 0 9 2017
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
DEPARTMENT
Prepared by LLNL under Contract DE-AC52-07NA27344.
