THE PAPE GROUP, INC PAPE MACHINERY INC Job Description Job Title: Technician-Shop Department: Service Reports To: Department Manager Exempt: No Prepared By: Prepared Date: Approved By: Approved Date: Summary: Diagnose and repair of John Deere equipment and allied products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Analyze and Diagnose(troubleshoot)equipment malfunctions or failures. • Pre-delivery setup and installation on all makes and models of John Deere equipment and allied products. • Repair,replace or rebuild engines,transmissions,carburetors,final drives,steering, clutches,cross shafts,hydraulic components including pump motors,valves and all related components,electrical systems and air systems. • Welding and fabrication may be required. • Perform assigned tasks in a timely,accurate and efficient manner. • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers. • Prepare required documentation accurately and timely,including work orders,parts lists and time cards. • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment and product technology. Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks. • Read and interpret instruction manual and pertinent literature. • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws,policies and rules. • Other duties may be assigned by the Department Supervisor,Department Manager or the General Manager. • Overtime work may be required in this position.
