Exempt: No Summary: Diagnose and repair of John Deere equipment and allied products at customer's location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Analyze and Diagnose(troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures. • Perform necessary repairs on all makes and models of John Deere equipment and allied products at customers location. • Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components including pump motors, valves and all related components, electrical systems and air systems. • Welding and fabrication may be required. • Determine correct parts need to complete task and order in a timely manner from the Parts Department, as well as, returning all unused parts in a timely manner. • Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers regarding all aspects of the work being performed. • Communicate with management regarding all aspects of the work being performed for the customer. • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with co-workers. • Prepare required documentation accurately and timely, including work orders, parts lists, time cards, expense reports and service reports. • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment and product technology. • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks. • Read and interpret instruction manuals and pertinent literature. • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules. \ • Ensure chemical containers are properly labeled and any spills contained, cleaned up and ) reported. • Have available all safety data sheets(SDS) for each chemical product used to perform service. • Maintain the assigned service vehicle including regular servicing and regular cleaning. Maintain assigned Company tools in good, safe working condition. • Requires travel, sometimes for extended distances,as well as, some overnight travel. • Attend service meetings,training classes and schools as required. • Collect customer payments on cash sales and promptly submit cash and paper work to Finance Department. • Other duties may be assigned by the Department Supervisor, Department Manager or the General Manager. 1
