SITE SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
SITE REMEDIATION
CIRCUIT WORKS, INC. (EARL PELLEGRINI) FACILITY
140 FRANK WEST CIRCLE
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Location: Circuit Works, Inc. (Earl Pellegrini) Facility
140 Frank West Circle
Stockton, CA
Work Description: Removal and disposal of chemicals, debris and containers impacted with
chemicals and contaminants used in the process of circuit board plating.
Hazardous
Materials: The following contaminants and/or hazardous materials are expected to be
encountered at the job site: Acids (sulfuric acid), heavy metals as
chromium, copper and lead, unknown liquid hazardous chemicals,
unknown solid hazardous chemicals and wastes, petroleum products as oil.
The likely route of exposure of these compounds is through skin contact
and air/vapor inhalation. The overall hazard is considered moderate.
Monitoring Instrumentation:
The following instrumentation is available to monitor the air/vapor hazard
exposure: a hand air pump with Drager tubes (Sulfuric Acid). The
instrumentation is certified "intrinsically safe" by the manufacturers against the
initiation of explosion. The components to be monitored are: Acid fumes as
sulfuric acid.
Threshold Limit Value (Sulfuric Acid) - 1 mg/M
Monitoring Procedures:
Air in and around the work site will be surveyed using the sulfuric acid detector
SKC/Drager Tubes. Initial surveying of the air will commence prior to the start
of work.
Action Procedures:
The following procedures are to be taken when PEL's are approached or
exceeded: If sulfuric acid levels are exceeded, work must stop and not commence
until determined safe by site safety supervisor.
