Task 15 - Sampling ASE will core through the concrete sump floors in the Plating Room, the Hazardous Waste Treatment System, and Tank Containment Area, as required, to allow for visual and olfactory observations of the soil for the presence of subsurface contamination from chemical spills or leaks. ASE will bore into the soil and collect samples to verify possible contamination and quantify chemical concentrations. ASE will also collect wipe samples from walls, floors, and ceilings - primarily from the Dry Film Rooms, Plating Room, and Laboratory - after they have been steam -cleaned and bead -blasted to ensure that the contamination has been remediated. All of the samples will be transported to, and analyzed by, a state certified laboratory for EPA Priority Pollutant Metals (silver, arsenic,' beryllium, cadmium, copper, chromium, mercury, nickel, lead, antimony, selenium, thallium, and zinc). The pH level will also be analyzed in the soil samples.
