Field Sampling Plan <br /> ARCAi7IS has developed standard operating procedures(SOPs)that pertain to <br /> specific tasks commonly performed in the field.These SOPs are not site specific, <br /> ' however the intent of these SOPs is to provide managers and field staff with a better <br /> understanding of equipment,field procedures, material, health and safety <br /> considerations,and documentation procedures associated with a specific activity. Field <br /> staff will be familiar with these SOPs to ensure implementation of field activities is <br /> conducted in accordance with ARCADIS'standards.Copies of SOPS for soil boring <br /> and sample collection, hydropunch groundwater sampling, investigation derived waste <br /> (iDW)handling and storage,and boring permitting and completion procedures are <br /> included in Appendix B. <br /> 4.1 Pre-Field Activities <br /> Prior to initiating field activities,the contracted driller will obtain the necessary drilling <br /> permits through the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD), <br /> ' and ARCADIS will have underground utilities identified and cleared in the drilling area. <br /> Underground utilities will be identified by the following three lines of evidence: <br /> ' e Contact Underground Service Alert of Northern California and Nevada at least <br /> 48 hours in advance of sampling activities <br /> ' e Obtain detailed site utility plan drawn to scale of the drilling area <br /> e Conduct a detailed visual site inspection <br /> In the event that one or more of the above lines of evidence cannot be obtained or <br /> conducted,a minimum of one additional line of evidence will be utilized as appropriate. <br /> ' These lines of evidence include(but are not limited to): <br /> e Hand clear the top five feet of each boring using a hand auger to minimize the <br /> potential for underground utility strikes. <br /> ' e Private utility locating service <br /> e Research of state, county,or municipal records <br /> ' e Hydro-knife <br /> ' e Air-knife <br /> Wthm d—A p*n_03WI Um 7 <br />
