ARCADISSOP: Hydropunch Groundwater Sampling Procedures 2 <br /> Rev.#:01 Rev Date: March 24,2004 , <br /> I. Scope and Application <br /> The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure(SOP)is to describe the ' <br /> procedures for Hydropuncho groundwater sampling.This SOP describes the <br /> equipment,field procedures, materials, and documentation procedures.The direct- ' <br /> push drilling techniques will be used for installation of Hydropunch®groundwater <br /> samplers.This SOP should be used in conjunction with the Soil Boring Installation, <br /> Soil Sampling, and Borehole Abandonment SOP and the Groundwater Sampling <br /> Procedures SOP. ' <br /> Drilling will be performed by a Califomia-licensed, insured, and bonded well contractor <br /> (C-57)in accordance with Contra Costa County Environmental Health Division ' <br /> requirements. <br /> This is a standard(i.e.,typically applicable)operating procedure which r6ay be varied , <br /> or changed as required,dependent upon site conditions, equipment limitations, or <br /> limitations imposed by the procedure.The ultimate procedure employed will be <br /> documented in work plans and reports. If changes to the sampling procedures are 1 <br /> required due to unanticipated field conditions, the changes will be discussed with <br /> DTSC as soon as practicable and documented in the report. <br /> II. Personnel Qualifications , <br /> ARCADIS field sampling personnel will have current health and safety training ' <br /> including 40-hour HAZWOPER training, site supervisor training, site-specific training, <br /> first aid, and CPR, as needed. In addition,ARCADIS field sampling personnel will be <br /> versed in the relevant SOPs and posses the required skills and experience necessary ' <br /> to successfully complete the desired field work. <br /> Personnel responsible for directing, supervising, or leading groundwater sample , <br /> collection activities must have a minimum of 2 years of previous groundwater sampling <br /> experience.ARCADIS field sampling personnel providing must have a minimum of 6 <br /> months of related experience or an advanced degree in environmental sciences, ' <br /> engineering, hydrogeology, or geology. <br /> III.
