San Joaquin St.
Stockton, California 95201-0388
RE: Work Plan (Well Abandonment)
1235 E. Alpine
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Turkatte:
In accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) policy, the following is a work plan for destruction;of the six (6) groundwater monitoring
wells located at 1235 E. Alpine, Stockton, California on the property known as the "Major Mart Site."
The following work will be initiated:
• All wells, with the exception of monitoring well MW-4 will be pressure grouted with a
neat cement grout. Once the grout has formed i a "cup" over the sheared casing, the
excavation will be backfilled with soil or gravel.
• Wells will be over-drilled at least three 3 feet below rade with the exception of MW-5
{ p
g
and MW-6 which will be over-drilled to a depth 'of five (5) feet. Dean Gillman of San
Joaquin County Department of Public Works Planning.Department has been consulted
relative to this over-drilling which is consistent with their planned street widening along
West Lane. A copy of the encroachment permit is included.
s
• Monitoring well MW-4 will be pressure grouted; however, once pressure grouting has
been completed, MW-4 will be over-drilled to a`°de th'of fifty 50
P P Y ( ) feet. The zone of
naphthalene impact is at approximately twenty-five (25)"feet. The over-drilled portion of
the well will be tremmie grouted with neat cement grout to within three (3) feet of the
surface.
• Soil cuttings from MW-4 will be drummed on-site and disposed of within ten (10) days
at an appropriate off-site disposal facility.
Should you have any questions relative to this work plan, please feel free to contact me at 7141440-7700.
S' ,
Trevor Santochi
Technical Director
NrcvorU5250 k42A%r - ,
