All concrete rubble was
' moved to the rubble pile located in the southwest corner of the site The remaining onsite fuel
pipelines (approximately forty feet) will be disposed of during the next phase of the Task 1 site
' activities
To evaluate the current chemical concentrations of soil in the tank excavation pit, a series of
' seven soil samples were taken Four samples (N1, N2, S1 and S2) were collected from the
bottom of the tank excavation at approximately twenty feet below the ground surface (bgs) and
three (NW 1, NW2 and SW2) were taken from the side walls at approximately ten feet bgs The
' OVA did not detect volatile organics in the breathing zone near the tank excavation while
sampling EHD was onsite to observe sampling activities All samples were collected from the
excavator bucket and were collected in stainless steel tubes and stored as previously described
' All the samples were collected on September 15 and stored for analysis by an onsite mobile
laboratory on September 16 The analytical results were available on the evening of September
16 Only sample S-2 from the tank excavation contained detectable levels of TPH-G (1490 5
mg/kg) and Toluene (6 410 mg/kg), Ethylbenzene (13 394 mg/kg) and Xylene (52 521 mg/kg)
No Benzene was detected This sample was field screened with the OVA and it exhibited 160
units of equivalence (calibrated to methane) of organic vapors Figure C-1 shows the soil
MXC\RPTSUREG3QTR WP C - 3 11112M
