*S11? n Regtonaii Tranxit Olstri'ct
• Input changes and materials substitution: The SJRTD's WM team shall
begin researching and looking for vendors and raw materials that will have
more absorbency and are capable of absorbing more oil per pound of
absorbent material. The WM team shall also explore the new and
emerging technology relative to finding alternative absorbent products that
result in non--hazardous by products and wastes.
• Multi-media environmental Compliance analysis: The SJRTD's WM
team shall conduct a thorough multi-media analysis of the foregoing
proposed measures to the other environmental media such as air and
water as well as the health and safety of the SJRTD's employees and
staff.
Relative to the other waste streams, although not required, the SJRTD shall use
a combination of source reduction, waste minimization strategies, and measures
listed above in order to continue to reduce the overall quantity of its total
hazardous waste stream on good faith basis. The rational for accepting and
rejecting source reduction measures shall be based on the following criteria:
• Expected change in hazardous waste generation volume: I
• Technical feasibility: II
• Economic evaluations: III
• Effect on product quality: IV
• Employee health and safety: V
• Multi-media environmental compliance with Federal, State and local
regulations: VI
• Releases and discharges: VII
• Other: Vill
;6
