Factors Affecting Major Waste Streams
This section of the PR is designed to provide a description of the factors that
affect the hazardous waste generation and management practices at the
SJRTD's Stockton facility, during the baseline year 2002 through the reporting
year 2006. Factors that can influence the generation and management of
hazardous waste include but are not limited to the following:
• Changes in business activities/production rate: increase or decrease in
business activities: purchase of more buses and vehicles and
consequential increase in maintenance activities, hence, generation of
more hazardous waste.
• Changes in waste classification by the Federal EPA and the DTSC
• Other factors that can affect the quantity of hazardous waste generated by
site and off-site hazardous waste management requirements.
As indicate before, since, the baseline year for this report is the calendar year
2002, Table 4 is designed to serve as a tracking tool for the SJRTD's WM team's
use for the reporting period of 2002 through 2006.
In addition, table 4 provides the basis for keeping track of an annual tallying of
the factors that will influence the management of the designated waste streams
in each calendar year following the baseline.
59
