This workplan describes the field investigation activi its to evaluate <br /> the presence and extent of subsurface gasoline contamination at.the former gasoline tank <br /> location. This plan has been prepared based on the informatics provided by San Joaquin <br /> Country Public Health Services (SJCPHS), the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recorumendati.ons <br /> for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites Tri-Regional <br /> Guidelines) and the Leaking Underground., g !,round Fuel Tank(LUST) Field Manual. <br /> OBJECTIVES <br /> The objectives of the field investigation are to: <br /> 1. estimarrz the areal and ver0cal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination <br /> around the gasoline tank location and <br /> 2. evaluate its impact on die soil and groundwater quality (if any). <br /> L3 <br /> BACKGROUND . <br /> t , The site is an abandoned m4ni-market/ asoline station <br /> �- g (Major Mart) located at 1235 Eea-t ' <br /> Alpine Avenue in Stockctam, Kalifornia (Figure 1). Site features include a building (located' <br /> on the west central portion.of'the property)and a canopy(located on the east central portion <br /> Of the property) as shown or, Figure 2. The site is bounded.by West Lane on the east, b <br /> East Alpine Avenue on the smith, and by residential housing on the west and north. y <br /> t. <br /> d <br /> In June 1990, three gasoline tanks (6,000 gallon, 8,000 gallon and 10,000 gallon) and an <br /> a underground waste oil tank (500 gallon) were removed from the property by the Seibold <br /> t' <br /> Corporation.
