Based on the volume of 7.4 cubic feet inside the casing, assuming a filter pack <br /> porosity of 30%, and allowing for 10% extra, 13.2 cubic feet of neat cement grout will be <br /> injected into the well casing using a mud pump and tremie pipe or drill stem. The gout will <br /> consist of approximately 5.2 to 6.0 gallons of water per sack of cement. It is anticipated that <br /> Kearney will employ Rival Water Well Drilling Company to destroy the well. The existing well <br /> vault and upper 5 feet of casing will be excavated and the hole backfilled with native soil. <br /> The exact date for the decommissioning of well KS-15 has not been set, but it is anticipated that <br /> the work will occur in mid August.
