The Report describes the treatment system, when prove-out
initially began, and problems experienced during the prove-out activities. Kearney proposes to
continue prove-out activities to optimize the peroxide injection rate, reduce air flow in the
blower, and ensure the system and related equipment are working properly to obtain complete
destruction of 1,4-dioxane.
Board staff concurs with continuing the prove-out activities. By 14 March 2003, please submit
the prove-out report with a schedule to begin full-scale remediation.
