Prepared by Dudek&Associates, Inc.
Dated December 21, 2001. (Workplan).
INTRODUCTION
The Geological Services Unit (GSU) has reviewed the Workplan submitted on behalf of the
facility on December 21, 2001. This memorandum provides our comments and
recommendations. If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 255-6537 or Brian
Lewis at (916) 255-6532.
The Workplan proposes an offsite investigation to determine the nature and extent of volatile
organic compounds (VOC) in groundwater south of the facility, as required under Health and
Safety Code section 25200.14(e)(3). The investigation was determined to be necessary based
on the offsite migration of trichloroethene (TCE) at concentrations above the groundwater
protection standard (GPS). The investigation will focus on the Upper Intermediate Zone in
which the offsite contamination has been identified. The interpreted extent of TCE in the
Intermediate Zone in April 2001 is shown in Figure 1 (from Dudek 2001 a).
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at www.dtsc.ca.gov.
0 Printed on Recycled Paper
