Alpine Avenue
Stockton, CA 95208
SYSTEM CHECK OF INTERIM GROUND WATER REMEDIATION, KEARNEY-KPF, STOCKTON, SAN
JOAQUIN COUNTY
I have reviewed the 8 September 1992 letter from Hargis and Associates
regarding the system check of the interim ground water remediation system at
the Kearney-KPF facility in Stockton. As discussed in the enclosed memo, I
had some concerns about the test pressures on some of the lines of the interim
remediation system. However, Tom Ryan of Hargis and Associates has clarified
that considering the actual operating pressures of the lines and the maximum
allowable pressure of the flanged PVC piping, the test pressures are accept-
able.
As I discussed with Mr. Ryan on the telephone, start up of the air stripper
system may begin on 16 September 1992.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5649.
POLLY LOWRY
Associate Engineering Geologist
PAL:ldj
Enclosure
cc: Mr. Douglas O'Neal , Toxic Substances Control Division, Sacramento
Ms. Diane Hinson, San Joaquin County Department of Public Health
Services, Stockton
Mr. Derrick Peterson, Bryan, Cave, McPheeters, and McRoberts,
Washington, D.C.
Mr. Jerry Zilinskas, Kearney, New York '
Mr. Tom Ryan, Hargis and Associates, La Jolla
Mr. Peter Quinlan, Dudek and Associates, Encinitas
