The facility may opt to manage the <br /> release of a small quantity of a hazardous chemical or waste. The EHS/BATCH/ <br /> Emergency Equipment for Chemical Releases FURNACE AND TECHNICAL Manager are responsible for responding to such <br /> For Petroleum product release kits areas,please refer to figure 2 in the SPCC plan incidents and/or directing a response. <br /> In the case of the release of an acutely hazardous material,welding gases,or other <br /> material deemed too large or dangerous for facility personnel to handle,the incident <br /> commander will instruct security to call the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District. The fire <br /> Acid&Caustic Releases department is the first responder in such cases. Working with plant personnel,the <br /> fire department may request assistance from the San Joaquin County OES or a <br /> Soda ash (for acid spills) can be found in the Hazardous Waste Storage Area, and private clean-up firm. <br /> maintenance/truck shop. Additional supplies of soda ash and sand can be obtained <br /> from the tank supervisor or silo operator. Depending upon the nature of the emergency,assistance may be required from the <br /> Lathrop Police and San Joaquin County Sheriff. The facility's close proximity to 1-5 <br /> Chlorine&Mercury Releases may require the California Highway Patrol to be notified as well. <br /> In the event that injuries occur during an emergency, the fire department's <br /> For Chlorine release refer to ENV-KP-019 paramedics will be responsible for determining what area hospitals will be used. San <br /> A small mercury spill kit is located in the HWB. Joaquin General Hospital (French Camp) and Doctor's Hospital (Manteca) are <br /> Fire Protection approximately the same distance from the facility. <br /> The HWB and flammable storage building are protected by a foam suppression Post-Emergency Guidelines <br /> system.The propane storage tank farm has a dedicated fire suppression system. Fire <br /> extinguishers are located throughout the facility.
