Box 2009 0 (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) 0 Stockton, California 95201 C4iF o a
(209) 468-3400
DATE: November 1, 1991
TO: Hazardous Waste Generators (>5 Tons/Year)
FROM: Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD)
RE: 1992 Hazardous Waste Generator Permit Stilling
Enclosed is your annual hazardous waste generator billing statement dated November 1, 1991. As
mentioned in last year's billing statement, businesses generating five or more tons of hazardous waste per
year are subject to state hazardous waste generator fees. These fees are collected annually by the State
Board of Equalization. State law allows state generator fees to be offset by fees paid to local hazardous
waste generator programs. In May of 1989, PHD-EHD established local generator fees equal to those
charged by the state. This has allowed the generator to pay the local generator fee to PHS-EHD and deduct
this amount from the State Board of Equalization billing statement when received for the new calendar year.
The generator is encouraged to pay the PHS-EHD fee prior to paying the State Board of Equalization fee to
take advantage of this deduction. The PHS-EHD Hazardous Waste Generator Permit Fee Schedule for 1992
is as follows:
HAZARDOUS WASTE HAZARDOUS WASTE
GENERATED IN TONS/YEAR GENERATOR FEE FOR 1992
5 tons to < 25 tons/year $ 126
25 tons to < 50 tons/year $ 1,011
50 tons to < 250 tons/year $ 2,527
250 tons to < 500 tons/year $ 12,635
500 tons to < 1,000 tons/year $ 25,270
1,000 tons to < 2,000 tons/year $ 37,905
2,000 tons or more $ 50,540
Upon receipt of payment, a PHS EHD Hazardous Waste Generator Permit will be issued and will be current
through December 31, 1992.
NOTE: Save documentation of generator fees paid to PHS-EHD as payment verification for the State Board
of Equalization.
Should you have any questions regarding the PHS-EHD Hazardous Waste Generator Program or the enclosed
billing statement, please contact the Environmental Health Division at (209) 468-3427.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
/ Health Officer _
fr//
Rona d Valinoti, R.E H.S.
Director of Environmental Health
A Division of San Joaquin County Health(are Senices 10
