• LFR, Inc.
µg/1, respectively. The groundwater sample collected from well SP/M-3 contained
xylenes (0.71 µg/1) only.
• Groundwater samples collected from wells SP/M-4 through SP/M-6 and SP/M-8
did not contain BTEX compounds.
Total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline (TPHg) was detected in six of the nine
sampled wells at concentrations ranging from 0.25 mg/1 in the sample collected
from SP/M-4 to 65 mg/l in the sample collected from SP/M-9. TPHd was detected
in the same six wells at concentrations ranging from 0.089 mg/1 in the sample
collected from well SP/M-7 to 1.6 mg/l in the sample collected from well SP/M-1.
• Methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) was detected in the groundwater samples
collected from wells SP/M-1 (1,100 µg/1), SP/M-3 (76 µg/1), SP/M-4 (4.5 µg/1),
SP/M-6 (12 µg/1), SP/M-7 (4.0 µg/1), SP/M-9 (83,000 ttg/1), and SP/M-10 (120
µg/1).
• The fuel oxygenate tertiary butyl ether (TBA) was detected in the groundwater
samples collected from monitoring wells SP/M-1 (340 µg/1), SP/M-3 (73 µg/1),
SP/M-7 (27 µg/1), and SP/M-9 (4,900 µg/1).
• TBA, Di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), and tertiary
amyl methyl ether (TAME) were not detected in the groundwater samples collected
from SP/M-4 through SP/M-6, SP/M-8, and SP/M-10, although the laboratory
reporting limits for some of these compounds were raised due to high
concentrations of other constituents.
• Methanol and ethanol were not detected in the groundwater samples collected from
on-site wells during the fourth quarter of 2005.
Known Compounds Source Known Concentration Range
(soil/water/drum, etc.) (ppm, mg/kg, mg/1)
Lowest Highest
TPHg Groundwater ND 160 mg/L
TPHd Groundwater ND 9.1 mg/L
MTBE Groundwater ND 200 mg/L
Benzene Groundwater ND 19 mg/L
Toluene Groundwater ND 1.5 mg/L
Ethylbenzene Groundwater ND 2.1 mg/L
Total Xylenes Groundwater ND 5.4 mg/L
TBA Groundwater ND 9.0 mg/L
TAME Groundwater ND 0.46 mg/L
mg/kg = milligrams per kilogram mg/L= milligrams per liter
ND = Non Detect ppm =parts per million
KMEPStockton-HASPv Ldoc:LFR Page 5
