- f . SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
?,1 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
1868 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, CA 95205-6232
(209)468-3420• Fax:(209) 468-3433• Web:www.sigov.orq/ehd
EMERGENCY
RESPONSE INVESTIGATION IGATION REPORT.(INCLUDE CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY,RECOMMENDATIONS,CLEANUP and FINAL DISPOSITION)
Received ER Spill report on Saturday 5/5/12 regarding damaged oil filter on ice block maker machinery that release
hydraulic oil into floor storm drain.
On Monday 5/7/12, went to site and inspected the ice block machinery and the floor drain. Leakage of oil found
approximately on 5/5/12. Something hit the oil filter, made a gash and leaked hydraulic fluid into floor pit. Pit was
clogged with ice. Pit flows to the outdoor sump located outside of the building which leads to the sewer system.
Pipe line from floor pit to outdoor sump has no traces of oil.Water was flushed through pipe line.
Employees used Simple Green and rags to clean pit. Generated approximately 75 gallons of melted ice water and
oil stored into two 55 gallon properly labeled hazardous waste drums.
Oil filter is hooked onto the ice block machinery. Oil only runs when machine is on mode. No movements of oil if ice
black machinery is not creating ice blocks.
Per request of Pgr Cdr KF to follow up on spillage that occurred over weekend to ensure no spillage into sewer
system.
Spill cleanup Abated.
Rev.04/19/12
Page 3 of 3 ER Record
